A keystone is the architectural piece at the crown of an arch which marks its apex, locking the other pieces into position. For just over three years The Lawrenson Group has been building an "arch" in Victoria St, creating Furnace, Bar101, Shenanigans and Easy Tiger and securing other building blocks The Bank, The Outback and Vespa. Keystone represents the pinnacle of that process to date. Keystone will be the apex of bar culture in Hamilton and the new benchmark for great hospitality for years to come. Join us today at Hamilton's only Monteith’s craft bar and experience the next step in the evolution of drinking and dining in the region.
We are open from 11.30am Monday - Saturday and from 10am Sunday
Good location, atmosphere and friendly staff. They had a high chair for our one year old which was good.
The food was absolutely delicious, I had the chicken with the mushroom arancini and everyone else enjoyed their food. There was also a wide selection to choose from so hard to have to choose.
The only negative would be the long wait for our food - especially as the restaurant did not seem very busy at the time.
With the Monteith's Wild Food challenge on I thought I'd give Keystone's dish a go earlier this week. A wild goat shank with a whole heap of other additions (quinoa, goat's cheese, lentils) and must admit I was mightily impressed by both the flavour and actually how much meat was on the shank (I was expecting it to be tiny) - obviously I haven't spent too much time herding goats!
Will try and get across more of the Hamilton bars and restaurants competing but I was pretty impressed so the bar has been set high.
