FOUND A PIECE OF HUMAN HAIR THAT I HAD TO PULL OUT OF MY STEAK!!! in attempt to make up for it, they asked if I wanted the Chef to cook me another Steak??? I DON'T THINK SO! They said they wouldn't charge me for, so they shouldn't! and then they offered me a free side worth $6.So they apologised for it and what??? manager even looked too busy to take it seriously as to why I'm writing this review. Disgusting! and poor Hospitality Buisness practice. If you love Hairy Steaks be my guess!
We dined at Smith & McKenzie Chophouse last night..... A farewell dinner for a work colleague, there were 11 of us in total. The food was exceptional , the service fantastic! We each had a main dish followed by dessert. We were served en masse which ensured no one person was waiting for their food outside the others in the group. Overall a great nights dining experience and having been several times before I won't hesitate to come back again and again! Thanks to the wonderful staff who catered for us so effortlessly!!!! ??????
Not cheap but possibly the best steak I've ever had. As someone who likes steak very well done, I find I just don't bother ordering it as most places can't burn a steak to my satisfaction. This place was extremely good at it. Definitely recommended
Went there as part of large group with a set menu. The shrimps in the shrimp cocktail were very salty, the main did not include everything that we were told, and the dessert was the worst plated dessert I have every had in a restaurant. It looked like the person plating didn't care. I have been to this restaurant before, but will now think twice about going back.
We went back to Smith & McKenzie Chophouse to celebrate a family birthday. After a 75 minute wait and two apologies (one with some bread) we finally got our meals. There were plenty of waiters but the cooks didn’t seems to cope with the orders. My daughter had the prawns missing from her Fish of the Day and some of the shrimps in my Seafood Pasta were barely defrosted. The pasta seemed to lack some basic seasoning. Although the manager was apologetic he didn’t seem to know what he could do about it!!! We won’t be going back. It’s time some restaurants stopped charging exorbitant prices for nothing special.
Must be the best steak in Hamilton. The steak mains are $30+ but well worth the indulgence.
One of the unique things about Smith & McKenzie is the open chefs table - a real insight into the art of cooking.
