I'm always a bit disappointed in The Bank. Something always seems to go wrong. Either the food takes forever, the staff are rude or the drinks order is wrong. There's always something!
I was there yesterday with work colleagues for their $10 lunch menu. The roast vegetable salad was tiny, however the thai beef salad got great reviews. The quesadilla was very cheesy and a little sickly, and the chicken burger tasted a lot heavier than expected. On top of that we ordered 3 drinks, apple juice, lemonade with lime cordial, and a lemon, lime and bitters, plus water for the table. The lemon, lime and bitters and water got conjoined, so the poor girl got lemon, lime, bitters and water. Ew! The staff were great and replaced it free of charge, but nobody seemed to have a smile on their face or seemed happy to be there.
It was fast, not terrible, and cheap, but it's not somewhere I would choose to go on a regular basis.
Great place for a nice drink. Great atmosphere, and the food is pretty decent.
The only drawback i find is that the food could be just a little higher quality for the price (ie fried fatty foods rather than quality), though i'm still very happy to eat here.
The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and they make a great coffee.
The Bank bar is probably the best bar in Hamilton by a long way. Although selective on the door, once you walk in, you are greeted by friendly bar staff and people. It caters for all walks of life with a nice restaurant adjacent to the bar. Due to the fact that this bar is occupied by the rugby crowd, Friday wouldnt be too busy of a night with club games on Saturday but once NPC games start for Waikato, it is a night that can't be missed. I would thoroughly recommend this bar as a pit-stop for a pint, a meal and of course for a full night out on the town!
